There’s only 10 days left till Christmas!! Here at the Alto offices, we’ve been ready for Christmas since December 1st, with tinsel adorning our desks, a tree by the entrance and a truly fantastic Christmas party (which was held back in November, we really are keen for Christmas!).
Christmas isn’t just a busy time for our personal lives, it can also be a hectic time for businesses with end of year goals and targets creeping up on us. To avoid getting stressed out, it’s a good idea to bring some Christmas cheer to the office, so here’s our top tips for bringing holiday joy to your desk:
Whether you opt for a casual Christmas party in the office, with nibbles and music, or a more elaborate event at a venue, parties are a great way to have some holiday fun and get to know your co-workers better.
If your office doesn’t look like a scene from a Christmas movie or Santa’s grotto, then you’re doing something wrong!
Only joking, Santa’s grotto might be going a bit too far. On a serious note, Christmas decorations are the ideal way to bring that festive feel into the office, it doesn’t have to be a lot, a few bits of tinsel, wreaths and maybe even a tree will make your office feel Christmassy. You could even hold a competition on social media, uploading your office decorations and asking for others to upload theirs, then awarding the best decorated office with a prize.
Secret Santa always goes down a treat and it’s perfect for all budgets as you can set the maximum spend. Get a member of the team to act as ‘Santa’s elf’ and find out who would like to take part and decide on a budget, then arrange for a day for everyone to bring in and swap their gifts.
Join in Christmas Jumper day
Friday 16th December is Christmas Jumper Day, where people raise money for Save the Children by wearing their favourite Christmas jumpers/outfits and donating £2 to the charity. You can even encourage people to take part in a festive bake sale on the same day, to help raise even more money.
Give back to your local community
This is the season of giving and bringing joy to others. A great way to give back is to hold a toy or food collection and encourage both staff, customers and even passers-by to donate items for a local charity of your choice.
Software you can access from home
Christmas is usually a quiet time in most offices, as more staff are away spending time with family, Christmas shopping or popping to their child’s nativity play. At this time of year, it’s important to be flexible with working hours (where possible) and allow staff to work from home or out of the office if they need to. Alto’s cloud software means agents can access their software from anywhere, at any time, so work doesn’t have to stop just because you’re away from the office.
So if you haven’t already, bring some Christmas cheer to the office and boost morale and productivity today!
